England’s Premier League unit Chelsea has lost £ 145.6 million

The European championship team in London, Chelsea, said on Thursday that they had lost £ 145.6 million (€ 173.5 million) by June this year.

Chelsea triumphed in the UEFA Champions League in May, beating Manchester City 1-0 in the final, but also ended the year with a financial loss.

Notwithstanding the fact that the unit’s turnover increased from GBP 387.8 million (EUR 462.4 million) to EUR 416.8 million (EUR 497 million) last year due to gaming revenue, Chelsea stated that the loss was due to that Covid-19 had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game.

The London unit is financially provided by the club’s owner, Roman Abramovich, Fordstam Limited, and if the band has to play back in closed in January 2022, the club will have to ask for financial help.

Chelsea have revealed three contracts with players totaling £ 109.7 million (€ 130.8 million) from Madrid’s Atletico striker Romel Lukac, goalkeeper Marcus Betinelli and midfielder Saul Nigess. At the same time, the London team has sold 13 players for a total of £ 103.7 million (€ 123.6 million).

In the English Premier League tournament table, Chelsea ranks second with 42 points in 20 matches.
