Eiduc in the seventh second stage of the Tour de ski; Vīgants 82nd place / Day

Eiduka started with the second number, finishing in 29 minutes and 48.3 seconds in snowy weather.

The victory was celebrated by Kerta Niskanena from Finland, who covered the distance in 27 minutes and 4.0 seconds or two minutes and 44.3 seconds faster than Eiduk. The second place was taken by the Swede Eba Andešsone, who lost 18.2 seconds to the winner, but the Russian Natalia Nepyaeva was 30.5 seconds behind.

81 skiers reached the finish. Eiduka earned 80.94 points for the International Ski Federation (FIS) for his performance.

The 63rd place was promoted by poorly soiled and weakly sliding skis, informs the representative of the skiing press Ivars Bācis. He reports that it was already clear from the first time signs that the skis are not slipping this time, because Eiduka, which usually starts quickly and is close to the leaders, lost quite a lot this time not even the strongest skiers in the first half of the distance. In the end, the winner lost more than two and a half minutes, which is 25 seconds more than at the end of November in the Finnish city of Ruka, when the athlete was not in as good shape as now and took 45th place two minutes and 19 seconds behind the winner.

Bācis informs that Eidukai is disappointed with such an outcome. She does not hide that the skis have not slipped, and even the descents had to be pushed. Her usual Estonian smearers were not present this time because they had to stay home due to the strict rules of Covid-19. I had to settle with Polish smearers who are not interested in the good results of Latvians.

On Tuesday, Eiduka qualified for the playoffs in the sprint, where he stopped in the quarterfinals and won 19th place. However, the athlete was a little cold before the tour.

The leader in the overall standings is Niskanen, who is 29 seconds ahead of Sprint-winning American Jessia Digins, but Neprjaeva is 35 seconds behind. An eiduca with a three-minute and three-second deficit is in position 60.

The leader with 464 points in the World Cup is Maja Dalquist from Sweden, followed by her compatriot Frida Karlsone with 437 points, and Digins with the third with 394 points. Eidukai 26 points gives 59th place, but in the U-23 test the Latvian is seventh.

In the afternoon, Raimo Vīgants went for a distance of 15 kilometers.

Madonietis started with the number 75 and lost four minutes and 23.2 seconds to the winning bag Īvo Niskanen.

The second was finished by the Russian Alexander Bolshunov, who lost 19.3 seconds to Nielsanen, and the third – the Norwegian Paul Golberg, who gave in to the Finnish for 25.2 seconds.

104 athletes started.

It is planned that Eiduka will start in the first four stages, but Vīgants will not continue the tour after today’s competition.

There are six stages in the tour this season. There will be a freestyle race in Oberstdorf with a joint start and a sprint in the classic style, but on January 3rd and 4th, the final two stages will take place in the Flemish Valley. First there will be a competition in the classic style with a joint start, but in the end the athletes will cover ten kilometers in freestyle, part of the distance against the mountain.

The “Tour de Ski” series is modeled on the principles and principles of the legendary multi-day cycling tour “Tour de France”, which entered the cross-country skiing circle at the turn of 2006/2007. It is part of the World Cup stages.
