Domenico Tedesco is the new coach of RB Leipzig, the Bundesliga club announced on Thursday. The Italian-German coach is committed until June 2023. He succeeds Jesse Marsch, dismissed Sunday after the difficult start to the season of the vice-champion of Germany, only eleventh in the Bundesliga and third in his group in the League of Champions, in front of Club Bruges. Tedesco, 36, coached youngsters from Stuttgart and Hoffenheim before leading Schalke between July 2017 and March 2019 and Spartak Moscow between October 2019 and May 2021.

American Jesse Marsch arrived at the start of the season to replace Julian Nagelsmann, who left for Bayern Munich.

Led by caretaker Achim Beierlorzer, Leipzig beat Manchester City 2-1 on Tuesday in the Champions League, finishing third in their group, which saw them continue the European adventure this season in the Europa League.
