Dizziness intensifies the measures – La Nueva España

The covid has once again put the world of sports and professional football in check. The rain of positives in recent days has once again forced Javier Tebas to position himself. LaLiga has implemented harsh measures to prevent this new wave of the virus from spoiling the business, which now, as with everything, is being affected by the increase in infections, with the omicron variant out of control.

The best example? What happens to Sporting and Lugo, rivals on Sunday (January 2, 4:00 p.m., El Molinón). Because Sporting has four positive cases for coronavirus in its first team. And Lugo, with an uncontrolled outbreak, has twenty-seven cases and another five positive for antigens in the branch. The meeting, for the moment, does not run risks and aims to be disputed. LaLiga only allows a club to suspend two games due to the covid, – Lugo has already suspended his last game against Almería. And while the Galician team has five professionals from the first team, they must play. But, of course, in the face of this panorama, and the fear that exists among the highest positions of the employer’s association that more cases will be detected around the Christmas holidays, the measures have been extreme. David Gallego has summoned the squad to return to work tomorrow – many players have spent their holidays outside of Asturias -. But before the sessions begin, everyone will have to pass a strict anticovid control. Measures? Very similar to those of 2020. Almost a carbon copy. At least, before having the results of the different tests in hand. That is to say: back to the bubble of the first team and to the isolations. Tomorrow, all the players, coaches and employees who are in the dynamics of the day to day will have to undergo PCR tests and antigen tests. The players will arrive again in their vehicles, isolated, and, with dizziness closed to the bone, they will carry out the tests at the enabled control point, at the level of the cafeteria. The controls begin at nine in the morning and are divided into batches, as in the past, without the professionals maintaining contact with each other.

The check-ups will last until 10:30 in the morning. Afterwards, the players will collect their training clothes and carry out, from their homes, a first training session, set for eleven in the morning. At noon, the first results of the PCR tests will begin to be obtained. The idea is that in the afternoon a training session divided into groups is organized. Each will have a minimum of six players and a maximum of eight.

But the number may vary depending on the test results. In that sense, there is a lot of concern in the bosses with these first medical tests. It is believed that there will be a significant increase in cases. Some players, with symptoms, warned these days of their health situation. But there is fear of more cases these days, with the increase in social life around these Christmas dates. Or to the appearance of asymptomatic. Players will have to take more tests on a day-to-day basis. Daily rounds of antigens, at least until January 15, pending the evolution of the pandemic. The intention is to try to keep the virus at bay. Footballers have also been advised to limit social activities. Tomorrow they will be remembered again. Another element that reappears due to Dizziness is the use of the FFP2 mask. The sessions will be behind closed doors.
