Dillon Brooks angry with arbitration | NBA

Dillon Brooks should not be too surprised to soon receive a small fine from the NBA, following his remarks on the referees who followed the defeat of Memphis against Dallas (96-104).

Excluded for the first time this season 27 seconds from the end for a second technical foul collected in less than three minutes, the Canadian winger lamented the lack of consistency in the whistle blasts between the first and the second half and let it be known without going through four paths.

“As you saw in the game, we’ve been playing physical basketball, like for about a week now. And all of a sudden new refs come in here and whistle inconsistently. They want to whistle all the time in the first half, then in the second half, they don’t signal anything anymore ”, did he declare. “You have guys getting chopped up, ending up on the ground, and there’s no whistle blowing. There is a lack of player protection and that is the most important thing. I had the impression that the referees came to be the main players in the match, and that’s rubbish ”.

A choppy end of the match

Lacking skill, the Grizzlies gradually lost ground following several contentious actions involving Dillon Brooks and the Doncic-Porzingis duo, which also cost Taylor Jenkins a technical foul.

But the Mavs already had the game in hand in the last minute, and the expulsion of Dillon Brooks didn’t change the end result. The player even acknowledged the part of the responsibility of his team, even if he could not help but put a layer back.

“I obviously can’t blame them all. We have to snatch the undecided balls, to be able to take rebounds, to take the shots at the right time. But this group did not protect the players. They just wanted to end the game and it’s crap from the very beginning. It was rubbish ”.

Also in the tough attack and author of five personal faults, Jaren Jackson Jr. was more diplomatic after the meeting, believing that his team had not found the key to go for this victory.

“It’s really hard when it’s like that. You just have to find a solution. Not everything is going to be perfect, everything is not going to be simple. It’s going to be a bit messy, a bit rough. You just have to find a way “.
