David De Gea, goalkeeper for Manchester United and the Spanish national team, is the latest sports star to join eSports with the creation of his own club, Rebels Gaming. The goalkeeper intends to make him a reference beyond the competitive field. In this sense, De Gea is determined to make a commitment “to talent and the ability to inspire the youngest when it comes to seeking new opportunities and having a positive impact on society.”

Rebels Gaming, which he shares with him Manchester United the colors red and black, will focus at first on three competitions: ‘League of Legends’, the number one eSport internationally; ‘Valorant’, a younger game with enormous projection; and ‘Rainbow 6’, De Gea’s favorite esport that has great fans in Spain.
Rebels Gaming will have its own training center in Valdebebas, which will be open to the public for events and presentations.
The idea of De Gea is to provide the club with a highly professional structure: “We want to enhance motivation, leadership, resilience, the management of situations of success, defeat and, above all, teamwork.” In the team, apart from the competitors of each video game, there will also be specialists in sports strategy and tactics, marketing, content generation, entertainment and business development.
