The players from Estrada Sara Sanjurjo and Darío Míguez took the bronze medal in the Spanish Under-13 Mixed Doubles Championship held last weekend in Ibiza. They were only defeated by the finally champions of Spain, Patricia Peña and Pablo Delgado. The estradense couple made a championship from less to more, not being able to culminate on Sunday with that defeat in the semifinals that relegated them to the third step of the podium.
In the individual competition, Míguez, the Spanish U-11 champion last year, stayed very close to the medals, falling against Asier Torres in three sets in the quarterfinals. Sanjurjo for his part fell in the second round against Carmen Díaz.
With this championship the season of national championships closes, where the A Estrada Badminton Club got four gold medals, four silvers and six bronzes, with 5th place in the European Under 17 of Nikol Carulla and Rodrigo Sanjurjo in the mixed doubles, as most outstanding international event.
