Crazy intervention. An Everton footballer kicked Arsenal in the face

Monday’s overtime of the English Football League between Everton and Arsenal (2: 1) brought a nasty incident. Home footballer Ben Godfrey stepped on the face of Takehira Tomiyasu during the first half. However, he did not receive a yellow card.

In the 28th minute, the right defender of the “Gunners” kicked the ball in the slip, but Godfrey finished the fight and stomped on the face of the lying Japanese man.

Godfrey’s clash with Tomiyasu:

“He knew what he was doing,” Everton footballer Gary Neville, a Sky midfielder, accused Godfrey of hitting his opponent intentionally.

Referee Mike Dean did not consider the clash to be a foul at all, but VAR returned to him. He played the record for a long time, but then he didn’t recommend a red card. According to him, Godfrey did not step on the opponent intentionally or with disproportionate force.

“I understand why VAR judged it to be innocent. We can’t prove it, but as a pro (Godfrey) he knew what he was doing,” repeated Neville, who won eight English titles with Manchester United and won the Champions League twice.

In addition, Godfrey already had two sharp slides on Bukayoa Sak and Tomiyasu, who saw the yellow card shortly after the break after another hard hit on Sak.

Judge Dean is the referee who awarded a red card to Tomáš Souček of West Ham last season in a match with Fulham for an unwanted blow to Aleksandar Mitrovich’s face.
