Club: Mbappé, one goal in two from PSG

Since the start of the season, Kylian Mbappé has been arguably the most important element in Mauricio Pochettino’s attack. The 22-year-old is directly involved in more than half of PSG’s goals in this first part of the 2021-2022 fiscal year, clearly ahead of players like Robert Lewandowski or Mohamed Salah.

Despite the presence of Lionel Messi and Neymar in the workforce of PSG, Kylian Mbappé has emerged as the essential offensive weapon in the composition of Mauricio Pochettino since the start of the season. Author of 11 goals and 14 assists in all competitions, the international tricolor is regularly the element which allows to switch the meetings in favor of the club of the capital, despite the notable difficulties of the Parisians in general in the game.

His statistics are indicative of his importance in Mauricio Pochettino’s eleven. Decisive 25 times with PSG in this first part of the 2021-2022 fiscal year, Kylian Mbappé is directly involved in more than half of PSG’s goals (51%). It’s more than Lionel Messi, Neymar and Angel Di Maria combined (involved on 23 goals between them). At the European level, Kylian Mbappé is even ahead of some of the greatest players on the continent regarding his importance on the offensive game of his team.

Mbappé weighs more than Salah, Lewandowski and Ronaldo

At Bayern Munich, despite his 27 goals and 3 assists in 22 games, Robert Lewandowski is only involved in 43% of the Bavarian club’s goals. Kylian Mbappé is even ahead of Mohamed Salah in this area since the Egyptian is only present on 47% of Liverpool’s goals, while he has found the net 20 times while delivering 9 offerings in 21 games this season. Kylian Mbappé is even more important to PSG on the offensive level than his idol Cristiano Ronaldo is for Manchester United, the Portuguese legend being involved in only 14 of the 36 achievements of the Red Devils, or almost 39%.

In addition to his involvement in the goals of PSG, Kylian Mbappé is also one of the great architects of the leading position of the capital club in Ligue 1. In the French championship, the team led by Mauricio Pochettino obtained 13 points exclusively thanks to the exploits of the Bondynois. The 22-year-old striker also allowed PSG to continue their Champions League adventure. Decisive in each of the 6 group matches, Kylian Mbappé reported 6 of the 11 points gleaned by the Ile-de-France club on this edition of the prestigious European Cup.

PSG’s top scorer and best passer this season, Kylian Mbappé is certainly the strong man of the Rouge et Bleu in this 2021-2022 fiscal year. Like last year, the Frenchman carries his team at arm’s length. The Parisians therefore risk losing very big, both economically and sporting, if Kylian Mbappé were to leave PSG at the end of the season, his contract coming to an end next June.
