Chaco For Ever achieved the long-awaited promotion to the First National, after defeating Gimnasia and Tiro de Salta 1 to 0 in the final of the reduced Federal A, in Santiago del Estero and thus returns to the second category of Argentine football after 23 years . Negro’s goal was scored by Emanuel Díaz, from a penalty, 29 minutes into the first half, after a hand from Juan Galetto inside the area.

Daniel Cravero’s team was far superior to its rival throughout the game, and even had several chances to win by a greater difference.

From the first minute of play, Chaco For Ever showed a greater offensive vocation than the Salta team, which was outmatched in all its lines. After warning several times, at 26 minutes, a deep attack by Negro led to the penalty, after a low cross from the right that hit Galetto’s arm, and referee Gastón Monsón Brizuela did not hesitate to charge. Díaz executed it with power, up, without giving goalkeeper Silva a chance.

After the goal, For Ever had at least two chances to extend the lead. The clearest was at 43, with a shot from Marcos Giménez that hit the post. A minute later, the stick again saved Gimnasia and Tiro, after a header from Matías Romero. In addition, the Chaco team played almost the entire second half with superiority numbers, due to the expulsion of Matías Birge, at the minute of the complement, for a strong tackle against Marcos Giménez. Although Gimnasia tried to stand a few meters ahead, it lacked clarity and offensive presence to create danger in front of Canuto’s goal.

At the end, with the game completely disorganized, Herrera had the tie for Gimnasia, and Negro also had a very clear one, but Jofré threw it from above. And in injury time, Jofré saw the red for a collision with some of the rival’s assistants, but it did not dampen the joy of the entire team and coaching staff, and the four thousand fans who traveled to Santiago del Estero to be present on this historic day in the one that Chaco For Ever achieved the return to the second category of Argentine soccer, after 23 years.
