Cali journalist denounces having been attacked by Atlético Nacional fans in Medellín

Caleña journalist Alejandra Goyes denounced having been the victim of aggression by a group of Atlético Nacional fans, who stole her belongings the moment she arrived in Medellín to cover the match between Deportivo Cali and the purslane team.

“A group of 10 or 12 Nacional fans cornered me and two acquaintances with machetes. They were hitting them and six or seven of them cornered me to tell me to take things out of Cali. Then they hit me with a fist on the ribs, “said the reporter from Semáforo Deportivo.

According to the reporter, along with a group of coworkers they traveled by bus to cover the sporting event, however, upon arrival at the Medellín Terminal, at around 7:00 am this Wednesday, they were approached by a group of fans who, apparently, were looking for Deportivo Cali fans.

“They stole my camera next to the lens. They made me empty my entire suitcase to confirm that I was not carrying anything from Cali. One of them even said that it was not me but another person they were looking for because on the bus that was coming, at Apparently, there was someone with team things, “he said.

When the attackers left and the police arrived, the journalist approached the security guard who observed all the events and questioned him for not having intervened, “the gentleman’s response was that he was not going to have himself killed by me,” she mentioned.

At the moment, the authorities managed to capture two of the alleged assailants, while the search continues for the stolen items that have a cost of more than $ 2 million.

“It is too sad that these things continue to happen, regardless of whether I am a fan or a journalist. I came with the illusion of doing my job and today the violence that transcends from such a beautiful sport has me as a protagonist and not because of what I do but for what they did to me, “he said.

Finally, Semáforo Deportivo rejected the journalist’s aggression and called on the authorities to identify and capture the others involved.
