Forget all the fuss after the top game against Bayern: That was the goal, that was what BVB succeeded in doing. With a goal festival and a strong performance against Besiktas, Dortmund says goodbye to the Champions League.
Borussia Dortmund says goodbye with a clear victory and as third in the group from the Champions League towards the Europa League. Three days after the excitement top game in the Bundesliga against FC Bayern (2: 3), BVB wins 5: 0 against Besiktas Istanbul. It’s the end of an up-and-down season in the premier class.
Coach Marco Rose makes five changes in the starting line-up, putting striker Erling Haaland on the bench. And so it takes until BVB finds itself and Bellingham has a first chance at scoring (17th). After just under half an hour, the ball is in the Besiktas goal for the first time: the ball lands at Winger Malen via Schulz and Bellingham, who completes the lead nicely (29th).
Besiktas sees red
Shortly before the break, a real upset: Dahoud falls after contact with Welinton in the penalty area – penalty for Dortmund and red for the Brazilian. Captain Reus converts without any problems (45th). And before Reus is then substituted for Haaland (63rd), he puts together a double pack after a great solo (53rd).

Haaland double pack
But a peat festival without a goal from Haaland? Do not worry. The Norwegian is on the field for five minutes, then the doorbell rings for the first time: Schulz crosses to Haaland, who climbs up and heads in (68th). After 81 minutes, Haaland followed up with his second header.
BVB is celebrating from the Champions League, the hustle and bustle around the Bayern game is forgotten for the moment.
