Bordeaux has to deal with a corona bomb within the team. The club is missing no fewer than 21 players “for reasons related to covid”. A cup match against Brest is scheduled for Sunday and they should just play it for the time being. “This is ridiculous,” it sounds.
“Why does the federation want this match to be played?”, the French club asks in a press release. Bordeaux would of course prefer to see the game postponed.
“Is it good for the image of the French Cup if a professional club with only reserve players and promises has to work? This is ridiculous.”
The club continues to urge the French Football Association to find a solution.
Also the last competition match of Bordeaux on December 22 was already in danger. There were then 9 infections within the club. But in the end they had to play because there were still 21 players available.
