Bobsleigh sprinter Burghardt as a pusher to Olympic sport

After the Olympics in Tokyo, sprinter Alexandra Burghardt (Burghausen) can also fulfill her dream of participating in the Winter Games in Beijing. The German champion over 100 and 200 m will be proposed for the nomination for the competitions in China (February 4th to 20th) as a pusher by Olympic bobsleigh champion Mariama Jamanka (Oberhof). This was confirmed by national coach Rene Spies. Previously, the Picture on sunday reports that Burghardt won the final push tests in Oberhof shortly before Christmas.

“I’m of course really happy! I have trained for so many years to make my Olympic dream come true, now I can live it twice in half a year. Unbelievable,” said the 27-year-old. The official nomination will take place on January 19th. Burghardt had only made her debut in Jamanka’s two-sledge in November. The best result of the duo was two second places at World Cups in Winterberg and Altenberg. Burghardt (100 m best time: 11.01 seconds) had run over 100 meters to the semifinals on her Olympic debut in Tokyo and finished fifth in the relay.
