The health crisis has ruined the Christmas holidays at the judo club. The Yves-Mourgues room, where the giant tatami is usually installed, has remained silent this year. No demonstration in front of families of the work carried out in all age categories during judo training, of course, but also of ju-jitsu and taïso, at the municipal dojo. No Santa Claus, no distribution of sweets, no buffet for children and adults alike.
Too bad because the man with the white beard could have slipped into his hood the good results obtained by several Biassais since the resumption of last September. To those we have mentioned in our recent editions, we should add the fine performance achieved on the first weekend of December by two 18-year-old female juniors.
Qualified for the next phase in Jurançon
Marica Gendrey, black belt regularly in the departmental and regional charts for 12 years that she has attended the club, and Coralie Poujade, who has just been awarded the famous black ribbon, participated in Agen in the departmental qualifying phase for the championships zone which brings together the departments of Lot-et-Garonne, Landes, Pyrénées-Atlantiques and which will take place on Sunday 23 January, in Jurançon (Pyrénées-Atlantiques).
Marica is on the first step of the podium in the +70 kg category and Coralie on the second in the – 57 kg category. In Jurançon, they will have to appear in the top 3 in their category to access the French championships. Coach Bruno Vincent and President Jean-Marc Tonti are confident. Good luck to them!
