Bayern star Kimmich is struggling with corona consequences

The vaccination status of Bayern star Joshua Kimmich caused a lot of excitement. After his corona infection, he is now suffering from secondary symptoms.

Bayern Munich will have to do without the German national soccer player Joshua Kimmich until the end of the year. The German champions announced on Thursday. After a total of one month in quarantine – first as a contact person, then as an infected person – the vaccination reluctant originally wanted to make his comeback on Saturday in the home game against Mainz.

Water retention in the lungs

“I am happy that my corona-related quarantine has ended. I am doing very well, but I am currently unable to fully train due to slight infiltration in my lungs,” said Kimmich in a statement from FC Bayern. There are several forms of infiltration. This is the penetration of solid or liquid substances into biological tissue.

Kimmich said he would first complete advanced training. “I can’t wait to be there again in January,” said the 26-year-old. Before that, Kimmich missed the final three league games in 2021 against Mainz, VfB Stuttgart (December 14th / away) and VfL Wolfsburg (December 17th / home).

Bayern will play their first game of the new year on January 7th at the start of the second half at home against Mönchengladbach. Most recently, Kimmich was on November 6th in a 2-1 win against SC Freiburg. Since then, he has already missed five competitive games. First the midfielder had to be in quarantine as an unvaccinated contact person for his infected teammate Niklas Süle, then he infected himself with the corona virus.
