The coach of Amiens Sporting Club Basket Ball comes back with us on the sporting moments that marked him this year.
What is your best memory with your club this season?
The first place of the B team. They are only young people and if I had been told that we would be first with two more wins than the second at the end of the first leg matches I would not have believed it.
And the worst memory with the club this season?
It is the 6 defeats in a row of the first team.
Who is the athlete or team of the year according to you?
I really liked the silver medal of the French Women’s Handball team recently. Olympic champions and vice-champions of the world it does (sic).
What is your biggest emotion in sport this year?
I’m not emotional, there are things that make me happy but from there to be moved, no.
Yet there is still the silver medal of French basketball players at the Olympics…
No, it doesn’t give me any emotions. I am of course happy for them but what is going on behind? Basketball does not appear more than that on TV, for example. It will affect me more particularly the day there will be fallout. After even if with my team we were to maintain each other, I would be happy, but not moved.
What can we wish you in terms of sport for the year 2022?
We will try to hold on, that would be great. And for the team B that it continues its little man of way and that it remains first. If she could get to the pre-national it would be great. I would also like my U-17s to continue working like this, because it’s a great group, they work and progress in a good mood, they are great guys.
If you are given an envelope of 500,000 € what do you do with it (at the sporting level)?
With € 500,000 we could consider, failing the maintenance, the rise. And we would try to structure the club a little better. We know very well that money is the sinews of war. If you don’t have money you can’t hope too much. With this sum we could consider the rise in N2, we could have full-time educators in the different categories and that would already be not bad.
