Basketball: Hamburg Towers celebrate Robin Christen in BBL victory over Gießen – basketball

The Hamburg Towers trained over Christmas. Trainer Pedro Calles (38) had scheduled a unit on December 24th and 25th. As a reward against Kellerkind Gießen in the Bundesliga basketball league, there was the delayed delivery of presents: 104: 82 (53:39).

Most points of the season! And the fourth win in a row across all competitions.

Towers celebrate Christian festival!

Because one could hardly believe his luck: Robin Christen (30). With 20 points (including five converted threesomes) he was the top scorer – and missed his personal record (22/6 threesomes) by just inches. Ironically against casting!

Christians grew up there and spent his summers there. “It’s always a special feeling to play against the team where you’ve fallen in love with the sport,” he admits.

But that wasn’t the only reason to be happy. A week before Christmas Eve he had married his friend Malin. They celebrated under the Christmas tree for the first time with their daughter Ruby. “It was a lot going on in the last few days,” beamed the lucky guy.

After a confused start, the Towers stepped on the gas in front of 2201 fans (2500 would have been allowed) and set the game to victory with a 17-0 run in the first quarter. In the meantime they even led with 30 points!

The short stroll in the final quarter annoyed Calles: “I like the mentality of the players. But we have to improve that and show the same mentality for 40 minutes. “

Nevertheless, there were two days off as a reward. On January 2nd it continues against Master Alba Berlin. How many fans is not yet certain.
