Avila’s head baseball coach and athletic deputy director Daryl Cronk died around 2 a.m. on Sunday, December 26, 2021, the athletics department of the University of Avila said. He was 46 years old.
According to the ministry, Cronk died at Columbia University Hospital, Missouri, surrounded by friends and family. The cause of his death has not been revealed.

During Cronk’s long tenure as Avila’s head coach, he racked up more than 250 career victories, making six conference tournament appearances and three NAIA tournament appearances.
