ATP> Bruguera on Nadal: “I imagine I would have beaten him one day or another, but I’m convinced he would have beaten me almost every time”

Sergi Bruguera gave Punto de Break a long and fascinating interview. The captain of the Spain team notably delivered a tasty anecdote about Roger Federer. The two-time winner of Roland-Garros (1993 and 1994) also obviously spoke of Rafael Nadal, and in particular of the fact that he had never faced him. You can tell, it’s almost a relief toBruguera.

“I guess I would have beaten him one day or another, but I’m sure he would beat me almost every time (laughs). My obsession has always been to win Roland Garros and I was lucky enough to win it twice, beating very good players like Courier and Medvedev. Rafa Nadal is the best player in history on clay, far behind the next one, so on that side, I’m glad I didn’t meet him in my time. (laughs). »
