asymptomatic but out indefinitely – OA Sport

After a start to the season marked by few certainties and a few too many defeats, the bad news continues for the Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron James, in fact, as announced by the same Californian franchise, entered the NBA anti-Covid protocol. According to US media reports, the 4-time winner of the ring tested positive for Covid-19 and, as a result, he was unable to take part in tonight’s match against the Sacramento Kings.

LeBron James, that he was vaccinated early in the season, at this point he must be out for at least 10 days as per protocol, unless it is able to produce two negative swabs within 24 hours of each other. For the moment, therefore, the Lakers star has already been forced to miss a match but, as his teammate Anthony Davis explains, results in good health and, above all, asymptomatic.

As reconstructed by the overseas media, LBJ was in Sacramento ahead of the match against the Kings, when in the course of the morning the news of his positivity to the test arrived which, in recent weeks, has been strengthened by the NBA. The Lakers, for their part, immediately put him in isolation, organizing a “safe” return trip for him to the Angels.

“It is a huge loss for us – the words of Frank Vogel, coach of the Lakers, reported by the Gazzetta dello Sport -. We are sorry, we wish him the best and our thoughts are with him right now. Rob Pelinka and I (Lakers gm, ed) we talked to our medical staff who have accepted the NBA’s recommendations: we have explained to the players the importance of continuing the vaccination campaign and encouraged them to the third dose. We have already been without LeBron this year – goes on -: we are different as a team and more prepared than at the beginning of the season to endure his absence. Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook know each other better, the whole team knows best what to do and what not. Every year you lose your best players: you have to learn to win even without them and I think we have enough talent to do it. ”
