PADOVA – Businessman beaten to death outside his restaurant in Noventa. It’s yellow about the motive for the beating, which took place Friday night around 11pm. The victim is Simon Angjele, 37 years, owner of the bar Plus Thirty-nine of via Risorgimento in Noventa, but also of the Frida Tapas Bar in Piazza dei Signori in Padua. Here is his account of those moments of terror. The very violent attack forced him to seek medical attention from the emergency room: he was discharged with a thirty-day prognosis.
FEAR
«I left the club to go to my car – he said – behind me I was attacked by two people I had never seen before. They acted misrepresented, the attack lasted perhaps a little more minute. They have not spoken. They hit me in the legs, head and side with a baseball bat. Luck wanted two passers-by to see the scene, they started screaming and the criminals ran away in the car. I am not able to report the direction of escape and the model of the car ».
According to the restaurateur it was not a robbery. “You don’t usually beat a person to death to steal their wallet. But today what hurts me most – he continued – is that I have never committed any crime in my life. I come from a good family. I studied, I trained, I have no disputes with anyone, I lead a life of confidentiality. I work ten hours a day and stay at home for the rest of the time, I don’t lead a worldly life, I have never had contact with drugs or other deviations. This is why I am shocked at what has happened to me ».
Now the entrepreneur lives in fear: «We are no longer safe even at home. The carabinieri who collected my complaint told me that they will do everything to arrest my attackers. I trust in justice, I believe in a state that protects honest people “.
WHO IS IT
Simon Angjele, Albanian by birth, has lived in Italy for several years now and is married to an Italian woman. The name of the Più Trentanove bar is a dedication to the town that welcomed it and made it known. In Noventa he inaugurated a medium-thick restaurant. The clientele is not lacking and the consents are constant thanks to the elegance of the rooms and the service offered. Nothing, therefore, that suggests situations of degradation and delinquency. But then who could have decided to give such an important lesson to the 37-year-old and above all with what purpose.
«I am not able to give an answer at the moment – he continued – I am going through a difficult moment. I have dizziness and pains everywhere. Nor do I rule out that I was the victim of a mistaken identity. I repeat, I don’t believe the robbery because they didn’t even ask me for the money. They attacked me to beat me. They judged me to be curable in 30 days in the hospital, but if I think back to what happened to me, I could even die ». Meanwhile, the carabinieri have acquired the images of the municipal video surveillance and listened to some witnesses.
