Antigen testing and individual training on the first day of return to work

After enjoying nine days of vacation, the Girona squad returns to work today to start preparing for Sunday’s game at the Huesca stadium (1/4 of 7). It will be the first of a very demanding week and will also include the cup match in Montilivi against Osasuna, on January 6, and the following Sunday the visit of Fuenlabrada (14:00). First of all, however, the players and members of the white-and-red coaching staff are summoned this afternoon to La Vinya to undergo antigen tests prior to returning to training. Then the footballers will start working, still individually, in the first contact with work after the Christmas break.

We will have to pay attention to the results of the antigen tests in case any positive case is detected, which would complicate Michel’s situation for the Huesca match. In this sense, David Juncà, positive on the 14th, has already completed 10 days of quarantine and, in principle, should be available to visit the Alcoraz. Michel could also recover Borja Garcia, although he is recovering from a two-and-a-half month injury.
