Sergio Gomez’s performance at Anderlecht has not gone unnoticed abroad either. The Spaniard has already scored five goals and seven assists this season, as a left back. Gomez is also only 21. Olympique Marseille has shortlisted him in the urgent search for a left back.
The fact that the French already need someone in January and Anderlecht want to keep Gomez at least until the summer can pose a problem. Marseille has not yet officially reported to the Purple & White, which the Spaniard took over from Dortmund for 1.5 million euros last summer and committed until 2025. The resale value could well be a multiple of the purchase amount. The British newspaper The Sun also believes to know that Mancheter United, Inter, Ajax and Villareal Gomez are also following closely. There is also interest from Rennes, Lille and Monaco.(mah)
