After Ferran Torres, Barça target another striker

With the arrival this Tuesday of Ferran Torres from Manchester City, FC Barcelona has already achieved the first big blow of this winter transfer window. But this transfer estimated at 55 million euros did not calm the Catalans. Indeed, according to the Spanish press, Xavi would like to have another striker at his disposal and his name is already known: Alvaro Morata.

The new Barca coach has already contacted the Spain international and negotiations are already underway. On loan from Atletico Madrid to Juventus, Morata would not want to stay in Italy and would be ready to break his contract with the Old Lady, despite an option to buy. The Italian club could see the end of Morata’s loan as a good deal for the club’s finances, he who has not convinced since his return.

But the question remains whether Atletico Madrid would be ready to let go of their player for a direct competitor. In this case, it is Antoine Griezmann who could play a decisive role. The Frenchman is currently on loan to the Colchoneros who have an option to buy up to 40 million euros. An operation that could be profitable in the event of the sale of Morata to the Catalan club.

For Dembélé, the negotiations failed

Especially since on the Barça side, there are fewer and fewer illusions about the extension of Ousmane Dembélé’s contract according to the Spanish press. What gets stuck are the salary demands of the player, who would like a gross annual salary of 40 million euros and a signing bonus of around 20 million euros. Sums that the Catalan club can not advance for the moment, all the more for such a fragile player, and which would force him to have to let go of the French international.

According to the daily Sport, Dembélé would even already have an agreement in principle with … Juventus, which will have to find a replacement for … Morata.
