A unique documentary about the Plná 6 races is being made in the Czech Republic, and will also take the audience to Pikes Peak

Kamil Holán, one of the best Czech racers on natural circuits, will appear in the main role of a documentary about motorcycle racing, which was created over a long period of six years.

This year is unusually rich in Czech film projects with the scent of petrol. In addition to the comedy Grand Prix, which is being worked on by the successful director Jan Prušinovský (Most, Okresní přebor, etc.) in collaboration with actors Štěpán Kozub and Krištof Hádek, a unique time-lapse documentary about motorcycle racing Plná 6, Kamil Holán’s career, is being created in the Czech Republic.

For lovers of one track, this name probably does not need to be introduced for a long time, but briefly at the beginning – Kamil Holán is one of the world’s best riders on natural circuits, known in English as Road Racing, which has a long tradition and is one of the most dangerous motorsports.

But if this designation doesn’t tell you anything at first, just remember races like Pikes Peak or the extreme Tourist Trophy across the Isle of Man. But we don’t have to go that far for examples – the world-famous nature circuit of 300 turns by Gustav Havel runs in Hořice in the Krkonoše Mountains.

All these circuits have several characteristics in common: they drive on closed public roads, often lined with poles, trees or slopes, the drivers reach them at speeds of up to 320 km / h and do not forgive any mistakes. In recent years, moreover, the Czech driver Kamil Holán has also appeared at all these races, who, despite his more modest background, has achieved an impressive position in many of them.

In addition, a camera for which Adam Sejk has stood up in recent years has become an integral part of his team – a cameraman who has participated in projects such as V Síti, 13 minut, Technické jewelery and several popular television shows. The Plná 6 project will be his directorial debut, in which sound engineer and producer Václav Flegl will also take part.

The time-lapse documentary, which has been going on for six long years, should offer a unique look in the Czech Republic into the background of the functioning of top sports and the vicissitudes it brings to the personal and family life of a competitor. However, in order for the film to get on the screen, it needs help.

Like the authors of the Grand Prix, the authors of the Full 6 project have also launched a crowdfunding campaign on the Donio website, in which they are looking for funds to complete the film. They need to raise at least CZK 350,000 for sound, music and video post-production, while in return they offer supporters interesting rewards, including a private premiere or a course of 1000 turns with Kamil Holán.

And last but not least, what does Full 6 actually mean? Let us quote from the project’s press release: “In biker slang, it indicates the moment when a rider reaches his personal performance limit but also the limit of the motorcycle. The short and striking name carries the very essence of the lives of one-track racers who live at the very peak of human strength and euphoric states, while a moment later they may die.
