Namdong-gu long-term non-execution ‘Seokchon Neighborhood Park’ returned to the arms of residents after 50 years |
[뉴스후=서규식 기자] Seokchon Neighborhood Park, a long-term unexecuted park in Namdong-gu, Incheon, has returned to residents after more than 50 years.
The district announced on the 1st that it held a ceremony for the completion of Seokchon Neighborhood Park at San 15-1, Ganseok 3-dong, on the 30th of last month.
Seokchon Neighborhood Park is the second of three long-term unexecuted park creation projects promoted by Namdong-gu this year.
After it was decided as a park site, it has not been enforced for over 50 years, and the problem has continued due to the destruction of the noise landscape due to two unauthorized badminton clubs, gambling, and disturbances.
Starting with the securing of 800 million won in special subsidy tax in 2018, the district performed compensation for land and obstructions following the pre-administration procedure, and completed the park creation in seven months from April of this year.
As a result, the damaged area caused by the unlicensed badminton court was demolished, a restoration forest was created, and a multi-purpose gym was created to lead legal sports activities.
In addition, considering that the parking problem was serious as it was facing the entrance of the hiking trail, a retaining wall was installed to secure a parking lot for up to 47 sides, and a specialized garden made of grass trees was created on the retaining wall.
A smart facility, a real-time fine dust meter, was installed at the entrance to the park, and an emergency bell was attached to the park CCTV so that residents could use it safely.
In addition, the toilet, which was originally intended to be demolished, was preserved, and the residents’ demands were actively reflected, such as the creation of a playground in the forest and the establishment of a fitness center.
Gang-ho Lee, Mayor of Namdong-gu, said, “I hope Seokchon Neighborhood Park will become a healing space where people can relax together, experience the forest, and harmonize with life sports.”
