Grave mourning in these hours for Fabio Basile, Olympic gold in Rio 2016, as he unfortunately suddenly lost his 31-year-old brother.
Died Michael Basile, brother of the judoka Fabio and to give the sad announcement he is the Olympic champion.
“Hi Mike, blood of my blood. I loved you. I will miss you so much”.
A short message to remember the brother found dead at 31 in his apartment. The news was given by mamma Tiziana in a post on social:
“We wanted you with all our hearts and when you arrived you filled our life with joy. You were so small and fragile “.
“And even when you grew up you were tough on the outside and tender on the inside”.
The mother recalled Michael on her Facebook profile recalling her eldest son, found dead in his apartment at the age of 31.
The alarm was raised because Michael was not answering the phone.
Once inside his apartment they found him lifeless. According to press reports, may have been suffering from cardiac arrest, but it will only be the autopsy to ascertain the cause of death of Michael Basile, Fabio’s older brother, Judo Olympic champion in Rio 2016, former competitor of Big Brother Vip and in 2017 winner of Dancing with the stars.

Michael Basile was a judoka and judo coach and collected the Italian cadet title in the 46 kg in 2005, while in 2007 he won the bronze in the 55 kg junior.
Fabio Basile was born in Rivoli in 1994. His hometown is a province of Turin and is located about 14 km west of the capital.
Basile faced numerous obstacles along his journey, the first at the age of three years, he suffered from a life-threatening chest infection for life when he contracted pneumonia. The 40 days spent in the hospital were crucial; literally every minute counted.
Upon his return home, he recovered completely ea four years later he started practicing judo.
It was the Sydney Summer Games that interested Basile and shortly after the show ended, ran to the local gym asking if they had judo lessons.
Sydney 2000 does not just attract Basile to judo, but immediately identifies his goal … Olympic gold.
“When I was in school I had a problem with older children, I was bullied and Judo gave me self-confidence and self-confidence to defend myself. Judo has never been a hobby since day one. Judo gave me a reason to live, not just a reason to be better at school ”.
