Do not force to buy

The boy who claimed to be named Man kindly offered his merchandise to Redding.

However, Redding turned down the offer because he did not wear a bracelet nor did he carry cash.

To his surprise, Redding reveals that Man didn’t force him to buy his wares.

“He didn’t force me to buy the bracelet, like most people do when trying to sell something,” said Redding.

According to Redding, the boy actually invited him to talk about many things.

“Instead, he chatted with me and we started talking about his school and that he really enjoyed it and found school fun,” said Redding.

“He explained that when he wasn’t in school he tried to make money selling these bracelets.”

Give money without taking bracelet

Redding then tells Man that he will relax for a while on the beach and will come back with some cash.

“He said to me ‘Promise, huh?’ And I said ‘Of course'” said Redding.

Three hours later, Redding returned to the beach with cash.

“When I called his name on the beach he came over from the corner with a smile on his face still holding the merchandise bracelet in his hand,” said Redding.

Redding then gave Man some money. Not to buy a bracelet, but as a token of appreciation that Man has kept his word, which is to wait until Redding comes back to see him.

“I’ll give you some money. Because I promised, and when I came back you were still waiting. And because you’re still in school and learning English. So, I don’t want to buy a bracelet, but keep working hard, I really appreciate it,” said Redding .

Accepting the gift, Man thanked Redding. The two then did fist bump, and said goodbye to each other.

At the end of his Instagram post, Redding revealed his reasons for sharing this experience.

“I just wanted to share this little story as a reminder to be true to your word and the slightest act of kindness is never meaningless,” said Redding.
