Verstappen the rest himself in the run-up to titanic battle with Hamilton

Max Verstappen enters the last two races of the year with an eight point lead over Lewis Hamilton. Last weekend the Mercedes driver was too strong, but Verstappen did have a good time.

“It wasn’t a bad weekend,” he begins his story. “But it wasn’t very good either. I was positively surprised by the overtaking possibilities on the Losail International Circuit. The start was good and that was of course necessary after the penalty.”

“We were still quite short of speed compared to Mercedes, so we’ll see how it goes this weekend. The Qatar track was definitely one of my favorites. It was really fun to race there.”

Verstappen on a new track

The Formula 1 circus will settle in Saudi Arabia for the first time this weekend. So there you will find a new circuit, which has never been raced on. Max is looking forward to it.

“I’ve driven the track in the simulator and it seems to be a very fast track, so there is no room for error. Of course it’s always a bit of guesswork, as we haven’t raced there yet.”

“It’s going to be interesting to watch and I’m looking forward to the challenge. In any case, it’s nice that we’re going to several new circuits this year.”

Verstappen calm down

This weekend, Verstappen can even become world champion, but the Dutchman is not working on that yet. There also seem to be absolutely no nerves, as is apparent from his statements.

“I feel calm. I know I always do my best and we’ll see where we end up. Nothing has been decided yet and we are all looking forward to the challenge.”

“There is still a lot to race for and we are going to give everything. That is for sure. It will be a wonderful end to the season,” said Verstappen.
