University students present at the I Junior Pan American Games Cali-Valle 2021

Athletes from the University of Guadalajara will participate in the I Junior Pan American Games Cali-Valle 2021, to be held from November 25 to December 5, in Colombia.

They are Renata Ortiz Magallanes, student of the University Center for Social Sciences and Humanities (CUCSH) and Arath Juárez Silva, student of the Virtual University System (SUV), of the judo discipline, whose competitions are scheduled from November 26 to 28, in the categories of 52 and 60 kilograms respectively.

In the discipline of Weightlifting, which will be active from November 26 to 29, Ángela Yazmín Gutiérrez, a student at the University Center for Economic-Administrative Sciences (CUCEA) and Emilio Hernández, a student at the University Center for Health Sciences (CUCS), will seek a medal in the continental fair .

Regarding team sports, Ninive Díaz Arias, a CUCS student, will be part of the national representative in the discipline of handball, whose competition is scheduled for November 23-28.

Jalisco is the entity that contributes the greatest number of athletes to the Mexican delegation, since There will be 64 from Jalisco who will participate for Mexico in this fair, whose ages range from 14 to 22 years old.

The national delegation is made up of 374 athletes of which 186 are women and 194 men, who will participate in 39 disciplines.

The Cali-Valle 2021 Junior Pan American Games, which expect the participation of 3,500 athletes, will have the city of Cali as its main venue, in addition to the Barranquilla, Buga, Calima El Darién, Jamundí, Palmira and Yumbo sub-sites.

Their objective is to promote new generations, as well as to make new talents visible and support the development of sport in youth categories, improving the investment of different countries in young athletes, through their participation in high-profile events.
