Tommy Paul and Denis Shapovalov will contest the final in Stockholm

El American Tommy Paul and Canadian Denis Shapovalov they will face this Saturday in the end of the Stockholm Open after getting rid this Friday respectively of his compatriots Frances Tiafoe and Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Paul qualified for his first ATP final after defeating in three sets of Frances Tiafoe, eighth seed. To do this, the 24-year-old player and number 53 in the world had to come back to end up winning 5-7, 7-6 (5) and 6-4 in two and a half hours of the game.

Tommy Paul had always lost to 23-year-old Frances Tiafoe. In the last precedent he fell to his compatriot in the round of 16 at Delray Beach.

His rival in the final this Saturday will be the third seed, Denis Shapovalov, executioner in the second semifinal of his compatriot Felix Auger-Aliassime, Toni Nadal’s pupil and second seed.

Shapovalov, 18th, beat Auger-Aliassime for the fourth time in six matches between the two Canadian tennis players, who have not seen each other on a court since the 2018 US Open.
