One of the most interesting anecdotes we have heard in “The Complete Swing Show”, Stellar program on our YouTube channel, it comes directly from one of the most important power hitters the Industriales team had in recent decades and a born slugger in the Major Leagues. We refer to Yasmany Thomas.
The fearsome slugger from the capital told us in the program on September 17, 2021, how he was the protagonist of a baseball myth during his time in the Professional Baseball League of the Dominican Republic (LIDOM), which transcended for more than 50 years in the main pastime of that brother country, having several Cubans as protagonists.

“I played with the Eastern Stars in 2019 and then in 2019-2020 with the Leones del Escogido,” said Tomás. “With the Stars it was spectacular for me, the first time I played in the Dominican in the Winter League, it was a pleasant experience both personally and sportingly, I was as close to playing as I played before in Cuba.”
«The demand of Dominican baseball is very high, it demands you every day in every game. When I went to play with the stars it was in Round-Robin, nine games had already been played, that is, there were nine games left to enter the final, the team was in first place, of those nine games we won about seven », added the player .
