The productive quarry of the Soria-CS24 Badminton Club will compete, this weekend, in the Spanish championships of the sub19, sub15 and sub11 categories, thus covering a wide range of categories.
In total they will be seven athletes, that in all cases they will say goodbye to the categories to which they belong this season.
Nora Martinez Under-19 category, after a season with several wins and podiums, entered this competition reserved for the best 28 players in the national ranking.
Focused exclusively on the individual modality, the first confrontation will be against Lluvia Iglesias from Extremadura.
Aware of playing the highest level competition of the year, Nora’s goal will be to advance the maximum number of rounds.
This championship will be held in Tudela de Agüeria, an Asturian town very close to Oviedo.
The same venue will host the championship of the smallest, the sub11, with the presence of up to five Soria players.
With great results this season, all Sorianos start as seeded in some category. Specifically, Aarón Barrera, Iker González and Daniel Marín will do so in the men’s singles category, Jimena Ayllón will be the sixth favorite in women’s singles and the men’s doubles pairs formed by Aarón Barrera and Iker Martínez and the one formed by Alvaro Gómez with Daniel Marín will be seeded one and five, respectively.
It should be noted the level of physical demand that will assume Alvaro Gomez who will play three tests, the individual, the men’s doubles and the mixed doubles.
In a category as unpredictable as the U11, the club’s coaches are hopeful of putting a player on the podium.
The third championship of Spain at stake during the weekend, will be the sub15 category to be held in the pavilion “Alvaro Pino” from the Pontevedra town of Ponteareas.
The representation from Soria will fall on Daniela Corchón who will compete in the individual modality, being the fourth favorite and the mixed doubles with Andrés Pérez from León, who achieved the classification in the last section of the season.
Daniela’s greatest options are deposited in the individual modality where she has achieved triumphs, even in a National Master. Without a doubt, she is presented as a clear favorite to get on the podium.
Exciting weekend for the young Sorians, whose presence in these events confirms the good work of the club with the quarry.
