Solène Piroux and Marie Domaison have lived in the same district of Jasseron with their families for ten years. One is a lawyer and the other is a marketing manager in the Aesio mutual group.
Both have just passed their forties and are mothers of two children. It was at a neighborhood party several years ago that they got to know each other and their friendship began.
A difficult period during confinement
The two young mothers got involved in sport by practicing “Jog psy” as they call it. “Some people need to go to the café to chat with their friends, we prefer to chat while running,” they explain. But the outings are done early in the morning or late at night so as not to disturb family life too much. The routes are chosen more in the mountains behind their homes than in the plain opposite, to increase the difficulty.
This need for escape through sport was accentuated for both during confinement in early 2020. “We are both very active people in our professions and we suffered from being limited in our actions during the crisis. Covid-19. At the end of this period of restriction, after regaining freedom, and a strong need to breathe, we wanted to get involved in an adventurous project around sport. “
Mountain biking, canoeing and archery
In October 2020, the very strong bond that exists between them naturally led them to take an interest in the Raid Amazones 2022 which will take place in Sri Lanka (read elsewhere). A women’s competition, one week, united and altruistic which suits them well.
Since their trail runs sometimes lead them to achieve distances of more than 20 kilometers, well in their sneakers, they decide to embark on the adventure. But to participate, they must diversify their sports activities by integrating mountain biking, canoeing and archery by March 27, 2022, the date of their departure.
A project that supports a charity for children
In their sports project, the two young mothers wanted to integrate a human component by supporting a charity for children. They chose that of Doctor Clown (read elsewhere), who works to brighten up the days of hospitalized children.
The overrun of the operation’s budget, obtained by the sponsors, will be donated to this association, as will the profits that can be made during their presence on the Christmas market in Jasseron and at the market refreshment stall.
