There are a total of 39 sports in which athletes from 41 countries will participate in the first edition of the Junior Pan American games, and which has Valle del Cauca and Barranquilla as scenarios.
The Pascual Guerrero will be the scene of the athletics events, including speed, jump and long distance events.
The 3 × 3 basketball and beach volleyball competitions will be held on the Pan American Courts, while the Miguel Calero hockey arena will host fighting and taekwondo competitions.
For Evangelista Mora, the space was adapted for the volleyball competition.
In addition to receiving the cycling tests, the Alcides Nieto Patiño velodrome will also have the figure skating tests. For its part, the gymnastics competitions will take place in the People’s Coliseum.
Another of the venues that will host various sports is the city’s country club, which will host tennis, squash and modern pentathlon competitions.
Some of the 39 sports will be held at other venues, such as speed boating, rowing, triathlon and sailing that will be held on Lake Calima.
The city of Buga will host the BMX, road cycling and boxing events.
The municipalities of Yumbo, Jamundí and Palmira will also see ‘action’ during the development of the games; and in Yumbo the mountain biking, badminton, fencing and squash competitions will take place.
On the other hand, in the scenarios of Palmira weightlifting, archery and table tennis will take place.
The city of Barranquilla will also host this first edition of the Pan American Games; ‘la arenosa’ will host baseball and softball competitions.
