The team represented by Balinska will be led by Czech hockey legend Rūžička

The Czech hockey extravagan team Litvīnova “Verva”, represented by the defender of the Latvian hockey team Uvis Jānis Balinskas, will be further trained by Vladimir Rūžička, the champion of the 1998 Olympic Games in the ranks of the Czech national team, the club reports on Tuesday.

Rūžička took the place of the 2002 world champion in the Slovak national team in place of Vladimir Orsag.

The unit’s press service said on Tuesday that “the club’s management has decided to dismiss head coach Orsaga during the national team break”.

“Verva will be headed by an experienced Rūžička, who has signed a contract before the end of the season,” the club said in a Twitter account.

Rūžička started his career as a professional hockey player in the Litvinov club in 1979/80. season, becoming one of the best players in the unit ‘s history.

He will have his first acquaintance with the team during Wednesday’s training.

“Pavel Hinek, the general director of the club, approached me. It was easy for me. I waited a long time to train the Litvinov team. Not only this season,” the club said in the words of another new coach.

The coach is also pleased that it will be nine days to work with the players during the break to get to know them better.

Rūžička played for Litvīnova in the Czechoslovak Championship until 1986/87. the end of the 1989/90 season in order to return to the team before going to play in the National Hockey League (NHL).

The NHL hockey player played for the Oilers of Edmonton, the Bruins of Boston and the Senators of Ottawa in 1993/1994. returning to Europe in the 2006 season and after a short time in Switzerland, ending his career with seven incomplete seasons in the Prague “Slavia” ranks.

He also has four medals at the World Cup in Czechoslovakia, including gold in 1985 and silver at the 1984 Olympic Games in Sarajevo.

Rūžička started his career as a coach in the ranks of “Slavia”, winning the Czech Championship in 2003 and 2008. He ran the capital’s club until the summer of 2015, after which he was the head coach of various Czech clubs.

He won the 2005 and 2010 World Championships with the Czech national team.

In the tournament table “Verva” with 28 points in 21 games is in the tenth place in the competition of 15 teams.
