Zverev is back at its peak, Kerber is losing ground

Olympic tennis champion Alexander Zverev has moved up one place to third in the new world rankings. The 24-year-old from Hamburg overtook the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas in the ranking and equaled his previous career record. Most recently, Zverev was in the top three in April 2019, and he succeeded in doing this for the first time in November 2017.

The men’s world rankings are headed by the Serb Novak Djokovic, who won the Masters tournament in Paris on Sunday. Second is his defeated final opponent Daniil Medvedev from Russia.

In the women’s category, Angelique Kerber dropped out of the top ten after just one week. The 33-year-old from Kiel was placed in the top ten of the world rankings for the first time in more than two years, but has now lost eight places and is 17th in the ranking.
