The PGA Tour outstrips – Golf Planète

As the arrival of Saudi Arabia and its Super League becomes increasingly urgent, the PGA Tour has announced a record 2022 in terms of staffing for its new season.

After Greg Norman and Saudi Arabia have announced significant investment in Asian Tour, the overbid of PGA Tour was not long in coming. For this 2021-2022 season, the American circuit will distribute a total of 838 million dollars (745 million euros), including 427 million (380 million euros) for the tournament endowments alone.
This is an increase of over 200 million compared to last season (633 million dollars, 563 million euros).

Nine million per tournament

In more detail, the average prize money per event will drop from $ 8 million to $ 9.1 million. For example, the three tournaments played by invitation – The Genesis Invitational, l’Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Memorial Tournament – will see their endowment reach 12 million dollars (10.7 million euros), almost three million more than last season!

In addition to the 20 million distributed to Players Championship, the finals of the FedEx Cup will not be left out. 75 million (against 60M this year) will be put into play during the three final tournaments, with 18 million dollars (16M euros) for the winner of the Tour Championship and therefore of the FedEx Cup.

Bonuses all the way

The ten best players of the season will share a nice bonus of $ 20 million, double that for the 2020-2021 season. The Player Impact Program, which aims to reward the most influential players, will also increase by $ 10 million to $ 40 million to $ 50 million.

Last (small) bonus, the PGA Tour will offer $ 50,000 to each player who will play 15 or more tournaments during the season, a trifle….
