The lingerie under the judogi, so the champion became an entrepreneur

«My father put me on the mat when I was 4 years old. From 16 to 24 I was in the national team. I have traveled the world, with judo. No makeup, no nail polish, no hair up. Lingerie was the only thing that made me feel woman and feminine, and feel good. And so I went to the World Championships in Mexico with the garter under the judogi ». This, as a judo champion, was Carlotta Checchi’s first life. Today, at the age of 26, she is a successful entrepreneur: a brand, a boutique of her own in Galleria Cavour, others from others who sell the garments, a men’s collection ready to join the women’s lingerie that he creates and signs C.ALLA.


“Impossible rhythms”

“I chose the name of the brand already at the time of the thesis: a flower that embodies purity but not only that, they range from the whiteness of a white petal to more sensual and strong colors such as red, that is, the ideal of the woman I dress elegant, refined but at the same time sensual and determined ». Raised in Zaragoza, graduated with L.UN.A., now she has had to slow down with sport: “Every weekend away, three workouts per week, it was impossible to continue at that pace while working for my company. I could have joined the special forces, but I chose to follow this other passion of mine ». But sport, that sport, is still crucial. “Everything I am comes from judo. Never say that something is impossible, the determination to never stop: judo teaches you not to get down on yourself, to always go forward ». And so did Cecchi.

Life project

The project of his thesis became that of life. «The title had to be“ From waste to excellence ”. I took the silverware of the grandmothers, old objects that were no longer used, and we made a silver thread. Silver has unique, wonderful properties: it is antiseptic, hypoallergenic, anti-odor. This yarn, woven with cotton, has created a perfect fabric for underwear, with properties intrinsic and unlimited over time: it can be washed an infinite number of times and its properties will remain unchanged. It is something that we only have in the whole world. We have patented it, just as the machinery that produces it has been patented ». Checchi is rapidly pursuing a career in a sector of which Bologna was the guiding star. “With Cavalier Masotti, (former patron of La Perla, ed) we are dear friends, he is a visionary, he has given me many ideas and valuable contacts. Emilia-Romagna and Bologna at the level of corsetry and underwear were at the top, I am happy that my entrepreneurial story was born here. I hope to create something important, in the wake of tradition ».

The future

The very young entrepreneur looks to the future with confidence: «I would like to have single-brand stores around the world, but these are things on future budgets in a few more years. Now there is a partnership in place with the United Arab Emirates, then we have created collections side by side with high-level influencers: all novelties that will see the light in winter 2022. From next year we also start with the men’s line, very high, always of homewear“. However, women remain at the center of the project. «My goal is to dress all women because all women are beautiful and I want to enhance their body, that’s why we make many tailor-made things. A good underwear can dress the girl who is growing up as the woman over 60 ».
