Without starting quarterback Zach Wilson, the New York Jets have paid off one of the NFL’s hottest teams. The Big Apple team won 34-31 over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium.
With about four minutes to go in the game and behind by five points, the Jets (2-5) intercepted one of Joe Burrow’s throws. Positioned well on the field, quarterback Mike White joined Tyler Kroft on 13 yards for the touchdown, in addition to pulling off the two-point convert.
White took the place of young Wilson for this duel, since the second overall pick in the last draft suffered a knee injury. The replacement had a good game, making 37 of 45 passes for 405 yards and three touchdowns. He was also the victim of two thefts.
To return at the end of the match, the Bengals (5-3) had enough time to regain the lead or create a tie. The Jets’ defense rose, however, and forced their rivals to clear the ball after five games.
Carson Wentz will blame himself
At Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Carson Wentz threw two very costly interceptions and his team lost 34-31 in overtime to the Tennessee Titans.

The Falcons (3-4), for their part, saw their winning streak come to a halt.
The Rams are having fun
At NRG Stadium, the Los Angeles Rams easily defeated the Houston Texans by the score of 38-22.
Pass receiver Cooper Kupp took the opportunity to become the first player in NFL history since the Super Bowl era to amass more than 900 yards and 10 touchdowns in the first eight games of a season. Facing the Texans (1-7), the 28-year-old veteran caught seven assists for gains of 115 yards and a major.
