The return of the Yucatan Youth World Cup was in a big way.
A colorful and emotional opening ceremony marked the official return of the flagship tournament of Yucatecan sport, on a day in which the stars of the future of tennis graced the central court of the Country Club and fireworks lit up the Merida night.
A parade with the flags of the countries represented opened the day. And the speakers’ messages emphasized the valuable which was having so many countries and so many promises together in search of supremacy. The president of the Campestre, Arturo Millet Molina; the tournament director, Jorge Haro Giffenig, and the opening statement was made by the mayor of Mérida, Renán Barrera Concha. After the speakers, the colorful party with fireworks began. The surprise of those who attend an inauguration for the first time was enormous.
The kickoff was made by Carlos Sáenz Castillo, Director of IDEY, and Rodrigo Pacheco Méndez answered it, the jewel of Mexican tennis who on Tuesday will surely set the stadium court to burst with his debut in singles (on Monday he won doubles in pairs with a Russian).
