MADRID, 22 (EUROPA PRESS)

Metro de Madrid presented this Monday the train that will circulate on line 6 and that has been vinified on the occasion of the celebration of the Davis Cup Finals in the capital, which will be hosted by the Madrid Arena.

The convoy wagons have been designed with the images of some of the players together with the flags of Spain, the Russian Tennis Federation, Ecuador, Kazakhstan, Canada and Sweden, the six teams that will play in the city in the group stage of the competition, which will run from November 25 to December 5.

The objective of this initiative is to encourage fans to travel to the Madrid Arena using this means of transport, taking advantage of the fact that one of the stops on line 6, Alto de Extremadura, leaves very close (500 meters) from the venue located at the Casa de Campo, which will later also host the quarter-finals and the two semi-finals and the final.

“We are three days from the start and Madrid is already breathing Davis Cup. This vinyl train will help the majority of Madrilenians know that two weeks of Davis Cup are beginning. From the organization we want to make a tournament more ‘green’ and this initiative is a further reinforcement. We encourage everyone to come to the Madrid Arena by public transport, “said Fernando Verdasco, director of the Davis Cup Finals.

The tennis player was accompanied by David Pérez, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Community of Madrid, who recalled that the metro “is a symbol of the region and the country.” “It is a pride for a nation to have a centennial and exemplary service, and that it joins another great symbol such as the Davis Cup,” he said, asking fans also to use public transport and a vinyl convoy with which they perform ” tribute to tennis “.

In addition, Silvia Roldán, CEO of Metro de Madrid, also participated in this event, held inside the Moncloa stop, and considered that this initiative “helps to strengthen the union between Madrid and sport”.
