The ultimate application for a basic place? Cyriel Dessers was again vital for Feyenoord against Slavia Prague. Against Slavia Prague it was not in his 92nd minute for once, but in the 31st and 93rd with two beautiful goals.
Striking: Dessers had already come in after 18 minutes due to an injury at his competitor Bryan Linssen. Less than fifteen minutes later it was already hit for the striker.
Dessers turned wonderfully away from his attacker with the right, and then blasted the equalizer with the left. Despite the goal, Feyenoord seemed to be heading for a defeat in the Czech Republic for a long time.
But deep in injury time, Dessers came to the rescue again. In minute 94 he saved a point for Feyenoord with a lovely header. “I’ve experienced this a few times in recent weeks, but I never get used to it,” Dessers beamed to the Dutch press. “Seeing that ball fall over the keeper was so beautiful… Just like the first one, actually.”
