Six young people from the Fermont Judo Club took part in the Baie-Comeau regional competition on November 27 and 28. Of the six judokas, four came back with a gold medal and two with a silver medal.

The technical director of the Fermont Club and president of Judo Côte-Nord, Danny Bouchard, said he was very proud of his students’ performance:

The Fermont Judo Club gold medalists are Jimmy Bédard, William Roberge, Jean-David Bouchard and Antonia Rengifo and the two silver medalists are Cameron Power and Édouard Blouin.

On the same weekend, judoka Raphael Gagnon traveled to Vancouver, British Columbia for the Steveston Tournament. Danny Bouchard explains that it was a step towards national selection for the Canadian championships:

Raphael Gagnon should participate in the Judo Quebec Development Tournament which will take place in Repentigny on December 4 and 5 and which will serve as selection for the Canadian championships. As for the other Fermont judokas, they should resume competition after the holiday season.
