Red Bull boss Horner has to detain after an angry interview – football

Christian Horner gave free rein to his anger about the transfer of World Cup leader Max Verstappen. For this he has to be detained.

The excitement was great. Max Verstappen ignored the yellow flag twice in qualifying for the Qatar Grand Prix on Saturday. A few hours before the start of the race, he was moved back from second to seventh on Sunday. Despite a penalty transfer, the Dutchman finished second behind record world champion Lewis Hamilton.

Two races before the end of the season, however, the lead in the World Cup fell to eight points.

Team boss Christian Horner felt disadvantaged because of the FIA penalty against his protégé. The British broke his collar on Sunday in front of the cameras. In a TV interview, he made rude comments about the marshals who, in his opinion, had wrongly waved the yellow flag.

Horner is now being punished for this. The FIA sentenced the Red Bull boss to detention. He has to attend a two-day seminar and learn the rules.

Horner accepts the punishment and offered to apologize to the marshals. He did not want to offend anyone personally. But he basically stands by his statement: “I believe in my team, I am an honest speaker, an emotional person.”

Horner had called the man a “rogue marshals”.
