Ravens beat Browns and are the best team in the AFC

At the conclusion of the first round of Sunday games, the Ravens received the news that a victory over los Browns I’d catapult them to the top of the AFC ─consequence of the defeat of the Titans in New England.

With the possibility of being the best seed in the American Conference, and despite a night plagued by mistakes by Lamar Jackson, Baltimore edged Cleveland 16-10.

On the first offensive drive of the game the Browns had a chance to open the scoring, but after a 57-yard march Chase McLaughlin missed a 46-yard field goal attempt. The honors went to los Ravens, who from the hand of Justin Tucker they capitalized three units with a 52-yard kick.

The second quarter was plagued with errors and exchanges of the ball. Behind the Tucker’s second field goal (25 yards), Jarvis Landry lost the ball (forced fumble by Jayson Oweh), although the taste on the Ravens bench did not last long as Denzel Ward intercepted Jackson.

Product of the exchange of the ball, Cleveland broke the zero with a McLaughlin field goal, who washed away his mistake on a 46-yard kick.

However, the orchestra of changes of possession was just beginning. Grant Delpit made the second interception against Lamar Jackson, Oweh recovered a fumble de Baker Mayfield y Ronnie Harrison tipped the Ravens the third pick of the night.

Second half

The start of the final 30 minutes saw Baltimore build the way to its eighth win of the year with a 70-yard attack that Mark Andrews capped off with a 13-yard reception in the end zone.

The Browns were unwilling to give up the game so soon and in the twilight of the third quarter they responded with a touchdown that came with a dubious 20-yard reception by David Njoku in the end zone.

Before fourth period started Cleveland finalized the interception poker to Lamar Jackson, latest courtesy of Johns Johnson.

In the final 15 minutes, the Browns offense stalled and the Ravens sealed the win with Tucker’s third field goal a night (49 yards).

With this result, Baltimore takes the top seed of the AFC and Cleveland is displaced to the 11th rung in the American Conference. The good news for the Browns is that the victory of the Bengals prevents them from being located at the bottom of the AFC North.
