“Progressing”: Tiger Woods publishes a video practicing on the golf course

Nine months after his serious car accident, Tiger Woods awakened illusion in the golf world this Sunday by publishing a short video in which he appears practicing his swing on a golf course.

“Progressing”, the American star wrote in this publication on his social networks.

In the three-second video, Woods is seen on a golf course hitting a ball next to a half-full bucket of balls.

The 45-year-old former world number one wears a white T-shirt and black shorts over a protection that covers his right leg, affected by the accident.

These are the first images published by the star practicing golf since he began his rehabilitation for the serious fractures of the tibia and fibula suffered in the collision, which occurred on February 23 outside Los Angeles (California) when he was driving almost twice as fast. the allowed speed.

“We love to see you! Keep going, Tiger Woods. We all cheer for you,” the US Ryder Cup team reacted on Twitter.

“I think I love this more,” said American golfer Justin Thomas, who recently praised his colleague Rory McIlroy for the passion with which he competes in another message.

The severity of the injuries threatens to put an end to the extraordinary and long golfing career of Tiger, who in the past made spectacular comebacks after his back and knee surgeries.

Justin Thomas himself, number six in world golf and a friend of Woods, recently trusted that the Californian star will “try” a return to competition if he can regain his form.

“I know he’s going to try,” Thomas said on the ‘No Laying Up’ podcast. “I don’t see him playing if he can’t play well. I don’t think he’s a guy who plays at home and is throwing a bunch of (rounds of) 75 and 76 and saying, ‘Okay, I’m going to try at (the Masters de) Augusta this year. ‘

“That would not be him, at least from what I know about him,” he stressed.

Last May, in his first post-accident interview, Woods described his recovery process as the most “painful” experience of his career and avoided comment about his future in professional golf.

Winner of 15 Grand Slam tournaments, Woods said in the interview that walking unaided again was his number one goal.
