Manchester United have reportedly appointed Ralf Rangnick as interim coach, as reported The Athletic, Thursday (11/25/2021) local time.
The German man is rumored to be the interim coach of Man United until the end of the 2021-2022 season.
Although only briefly, it is reported that Rangncik will step into a higher position after his contract as interim coach ends.
Ralf Rangnick is rumored to be taking on a consulting role for a two-year spell at Old Trafford.

Rangnick is currently working at Lokomotiv Moscow as Director of Sport and Club Development.

However, the Russian club have reportedly agreed to let Rangnick go, although he is still under contract until June 2024.
Although Lokomotiv Moscow has agreed to release Rangnick, the pioneer of gegenpressing is still unable to accompany the Red Devils this weekend.
The reason is, Rangnick is still constrained by a work permit, so he has to wait to accompany Cristiano Ronaldo et al.

Counter pressing is a style of play in which the team directly presses the opponent after losing the ball.
Rangnick implemented and developed this style of play when he coached a local team from the village of Wuttenberg in Germany against Dinamo Kyiv in 1983, then managed by Valeriy Lobanovskyi.
“Yes, it’s very simple. Counter pressing is a proactive style of football, similar to what Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool have shown under Jurgen Klopp,” Rangnick told ESPN related to gegenpressing in 2020 as quoted from COMPASS TV.
“We like to press high, with very intense counter pressure. When we have the ball we don’t like square passes or feedback.”
“Neither should the goalkeeper be the one who has the most contact with the ball. In almost every league and every country, the goalkeeper is technically the most restricted footballer on the pitch and therefore we have to ensure that he has the lowest contact with his feet. “
