NFL: Titans freed running back Adrian Peterson

by archysport

The Tennessee Titans are turning the page on running back Adrian Peterson after announcing he was released on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old veteran was added to the roster after the injury to team star backer Derrick Henry.

Peterson has played three games with the Titans getting more than modest harvests on the ground. In the ninth week of operations, Peterson only passed 21 yards on 10 carries against the Los Angeles Rams, but was offered a touchdown with a one-yard reach to the goal gate.

The following week, the running back once again amassed 21 yards, this time in front of the New Orleans Saints. Last Sunday, he rushed for 40 rushing yards on nine carries in a 22-13 loss to the Houston Texans.

The Titans may look to D’Onta Foreman in their backfield for the sequel.
